Alice McCall S/S 2013

So Alice, I have a little bit of an issue with the following...how am I going to be able to afford it all?! Why do you have to make pieces that are so damn beautiful?! #firstworldproblems

It's times like these I hate my job, mainly for the damage that it does to my savings. But then the possibility of having all of these lovely things in my wardrobe just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

The white skirt and top combo is what dreams are made of, now just to wait till November for the first drop...

Short Story

Summer is just around the corner and I am craving shorts. With so many delightful options it is so, so hard to choose. The metallics at Ellery, the graphic prints at Alice McCall and Manning Cartell and the simple silk Lover lace shorts.

Maybe I'll just take one of each!

"Babooshka"

'Babooshka' is Alice McCall's upcoming summer 2012/2013 collection, full of beautiful colours, floral prints, sheer fabrics, layers and layers, jumpsuits, party dresses and the most magnificent baby blue leather shorts. I can't wait to get my hands all over this collection! It is summer perfection all in a cute bright orange, lace panelled jumpsuit.

It is a truly enchanting collection, and decidedly Russian, with pops of white, tangerine, powder blue, pale pink, nude and red. Reinvention season after season is McCall’s trick and she has worked her magic with needlepoint floral motifs scattered through romantic cotton voile lace (complete with miniature applique buds) and fitted silhouettes to make even the hardest of fashionistas blush.

This collection had brains: stiff scalloped edging, nifty sheer under-skirts and over-layers, architectural and floral digital prints and neon pops ensured it appealed to Alice’s loyal fan club. Sheers, graphic cut-outs, leather, crop pants and tops were intertwined with headscarves, crystal drop earrings and powder blue pointy-toe pumps. Divine. Get in my wardrobe... Please?!
